Sometimes I feel as if I’m living on a boat. The notion of growing roots or feeling at home can be slippery to my immigrant experience. So, I felt the deepest need to tell you how meaningful the Hollow was for me - as it felt like a home, it felt like an anchor to my ship! I am so grateful for your smiles every day, grateful for your attention and care. And mostly I am grateful for the generosity of your heart and the love I felt coming from you. I was, still am, so happy knowing my little [child’s name] is seen and cared for by you and the wonderful team of the Hollow. You all are magic. We cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for our kids and or family over the past year and a half. We couldn’t have imagine a better introduction to school for [children’s names] and we feel so unbelievably lucky to have been a part of the Hollow (and we hope to be back before long!). I want to thank you both so much for this past year and let you know how much it’s meant to watch [child’s name] really thrive. He loves going to school and I’ve seen him become so much more verbal, creative, and confident over the year. You’ve created such a special place with the Hollow and we’ll really miss it next year. Growing up, my parents were all teachers or worked in schools, so they gave me a real appreciation for how much work goes into building a curriculum or making a classroom dynamic work. Since we’ve started, I find myself regularly telling them about [child’s name] classroom and school experience and how considered it is. The units of study throughout the year were so creative and very much met the class where they were at. The daily walks, while I’m sure a challenge, have created such a fun sense of wonder and I find [child’s name] can’t walk down the street without looking up, looking around, and spotting a car, a bus, a flower, or a “big tree.” The art he brought home was so creative and fun and I’ll always remember the proud look on his face when he brought me his portfolio binder and wanted to flip through it together. Thank you for creating this very special place and for having us be a part of it. And please share our gratitude with all the teachers. You have the most incredible and generous team! Where to begin… We are so unbelievably grateful to have been part of the Hollow community for the past two years. We are in constant awe of how you remain so in tune with what each group of kiddos need and where their interests lie. It is truly so inspiring to see how things are constantly growing and evolving. I don't have the words to fully express our appreciation for the nurturing, attentive guidance and care that you and [the teachers] have provided this year. But I'll try. We met you all in the midst of our frenzied pivot from another daycare provider in the neighborhood, after [family friend] highly recommended you. We were a bit worried about how the transition would be for M. since The Hollow would be her fifth distinct care provider within 1.5 years. We were so relieved to find the inviting space you've created and your thoughtful style of teaching. Not for nothing, M. was able to transition pretty smoothly. We've been happy to meet your smiles and senses of humor at drop-offs and pick-ups. We've been delighted by your creative, thoughtful planning (butterflies, music, outside play, art, sensory play, firehouse, storytime, etc.). We know more than anyone else in this world the emotional, intellectual, physical demands of raising and caring for children -- our kid. Thank you for your singular style and care. We have been part of the Sullivan Kids family for about 6 months now, and I can honestly say that we could not be happier with the decision we made to join this little community. Sullivan Kids feels like that hidden pearl in a sea full of broken shells. The school itself is warm and welcoming. It’s organized, but not stuffy, clearly child-centered, but not full of mess and chaos like you see at many childcare centers. It’s the kind of space where you immediately feel comfortable and at ease. As soon as we walked in, my then 2 year old immediately went and started playing. Then you meet Liz and Tiffany and you’ll know almost instantly that your little one is going to be in good hands. They are calm and nurturing and treat every child with warmth and respect. They understand that every child is unique and special and treat them like the individuals that they are. They have completely embraced our little guy and celebrated everything that comes with him, from the fun and exciting to the challenging. We couldn't be happier when we found Sullivan Kids. Liz and Tiffany have created an intimate, diverse and a beautiful learning environment for our daughter. Our daughter learned tremendously and thrived under their care and expertise. She became more social, independent and her speech & language skills improved as well.
